ICSC, in partnership with LSI, is proud to offer the Supply Chain Security Specialist Program. Each class in the program is a stand-alone course examining a particular aspect of security. Students can take a total of 16 credit hours to obtain the Supply Chain Security Specialist certificate. The Supply Chain Security Specialist Program provides an overview of the needs and requirements for a safe, secure supply chain. Upon completion of the program, graduates will be able to:

• Identify risk and provide proactive solutions
• Institute valid security countermeasures
• Understand and identify the risk of terrorism, organized crime and piracy
• Understand the strengths and weaknesses of access, intrusion, perimeter and CCTV
• Understand the needs and procedures to protect any type of cargo, goods and materials
   within the transportation and storage link of a supply chain

Supply Chain Training Courses 
Supply Chain Security
Security throughout transportation, storage, shipping and receiving of cargo is addressed. The concept of proactive versus reactive, planning and the overall needs of a security operation are discussed. Specific security systems are discussed, as well as the creation and implementation of security policies. A Security Design section of the program looks at ways to maximize the security benefit within operational (financial and aesthetic) constraints. 
Cargo Crime 
Cargo theft around seaports account for losses of over $1 billion each year with the majority of cargo theft occurring within 1.5 miles of ports. Our Cargo Crime course instructs students on how to identify potential cargo crime, hijacking threats as well as theft prevention and the concept of cargo diversion. 
Access Control Technology 
All of the latest technologies in access control will be addressed in this course. Students will become familiar with equipment like card readers and biometric readers. An emphasis is placed on total system designs, which include the set-up of zones and access levels. The pros and cons of these systems will also be evaluated. 
Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Systems
In this course, students will become knowledgeable with the newest equipment and technology. The importance of total system design, camera set-up and the types of system components will then be stressed through practical exercises.
Crisis Management/Contingency Planning
This course covers many of the principles and techniques essential to crisis management and contingency planning. In addition to the planning and preparation, a focus will be placed on interagency coordination. Students will take part in different crisis management exercises before receiving certification in NIMS (National Incident Management System).
Guard Force Contracting
The course material covers specific issues that are involved with creating a respected Security Force Contract. Students also learn how to survey the need for security officers and execute a final contract. The duties and responsibilities of contracting officials will be covered and so will the subjects of scheduling and inspections.
Intrusion Detection 
The current technologies in intrusion detection systems (IDS) will be covered in this comprehensive course. Techniques and equipment applications for different environments such as offices, docks and warehouses will be addressed. The various techniques will be learned through practical exercises. Students will understand the differences between Microwave and Passive Infrared System components. Video Intrusion is another component of this course. 
Managing Security Operations 
Constant changes in the business world make it necessary for the security and loss prevention professional to have a competent understanding of these dynamics. This course will analyze the different concepts required for successfully managing a security operation. Some of these concepts will include planning, budgeting and scheduling. In addition, students will learn other topics that are vital to security managers.
Perimeter Security
Perimeter security is truly the "first line of defense" for any facility. In this course, students will cover the principles of perimeter security. Students will also learn about defeat techniques, intrusion detection systems, vehicle barriers, water barriers and several other techniques. Learning how to design and build a high-risk vehicle entrance will be the final segment of Perimeter Security. 
Security Surveys/Security Audits 
This course covers the processes for conducting, documenting and reporting various security surveys and/or security audits. Students learn about Threat Assessment and Risk Assessment issues and will also learn how to identify pre-incident indicators. The course concludes by giving students practice in conducting full security surveys.
Terrorism - Domestic & International
September 11 was not the advent of terrorism. Its presence has been a longstanding factor for many people and countries. This course will give students a preview of the history, developments and incidents of domestic and internal terrorism. Students will also learn a great deal about threat identification and decomposition.
